Redemption Gilbert | Part-Time Ministry Position (15 hours/week)

Overview

The Communications Coordinator supports Redemption Gilbert’s ministry by ensuring church communications are organized, accurate, and published on time. This role manages communication workflows, maintains digital platforms, and supports ministry leaders by helping the church clearly share events, teachings, and discipleship opportunities.

This position reports to the Director of Digital Formation & Communication and works closely with the Social Media Associate and Graphic Designer.

  • Classification: Part-Time, Non-Exempt, Ministry Support Staff

  • Schedule: ~15 hours/week (flexible; some weekday availability required)

  • Location: Hybrid (on-site in Gilbert, AZ with remote flexibility)

Ministerial Nature of the Role

This position directly supports the church’s ministry by stewarding how Redemption Gilbert communicates its life together, teaching, and ministry opportunities. The Communications Coordinator:

  • Supports the communication of content — Ensures the church's teaching, events, and ministry opportunities are accurately published across all digital platforms

  • Maintains platforms that deliver the church's message — Keeps the website, app, and calendar updated so people can engage with all that is happening at Redemption Gilbert

  • Serves the church's discipleship mission — Coordinates the communication of classes, groups, and spiritual formation opportunities

  • Works under pastoral direction — Operates under the oversight of the Director of Digital Formation & Communication to ensure all content aligns with the church's theological identity

Responsibilities

Workflow Management

  • Manage communication requests through Trello from submission to completion

  • Track deadlines, identify bottlenecks, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks

  • Coordinate handoffs between team members

  • Follow up with ministry leaders for approvals or missing information

Digital Platform Updates

  • Update the church website (Squarespace), app, and calendar (Planning Center)

  • Post announcements and ensure registrations, links, and QR codes function properly

  • Coordinate print orders and manage distribution

Administrative Support

  • Prepare materials for monthly ministry leader planning meetings

  • Maintain shared assets in Google Drive

  • Support email campaigns in Mailchimp (scheduling, formatting, list management)

  • Serve as a point of contact for ministry leaders with communication questions

Qualifications

Required

  • Committed follower of Jesus Christ who affirms Redemption Gilbert’s statement of faith

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Clear written communication skills

  • Comfort with technology and ability to learn new tools

  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently

Preferred

  • Experience with project management, websites, or email platforms

  • Church or nonprofit experience

  • Basic understanding of social media platforms

Compensation & Application

  • Pay: $20/hour

  • Hours: ~15/week
